Charity Project Q3 2024

St Martin’s Roman Catholic Primary School – Lagun, Ibadan, Oyo State.

1.   Project Brief.

Aligned with the goals and philosophy of the Futures Progressive Club, we allocated a budget to contribute positively to our community. After reviewing the requests available to us for 2024, we decided to support a primary school in Lagun, located within Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo State. Our focus is on a block that includes five classrooms and a staff room, which had been abandoned and rendered unusable due to complete structural failure.

A total of £1,500 (N3,000,000.00) was allocated for the project, with approval granted to Mr. Giwa to provide additional funds if a shortfall arises.

The objective being a complete re-roofing and renovation of the block described above.

2.   Appreciation

The Headmistress and the entire staff expressed their deep gratitude to Futures Club for the impressive and timely completion of the charity intervention. The Lagun community was equally delighted, especially knowing that children will no longer need to share classrooms across multiple year groups. His Royal Highness, the Oba of Lagun, Olalekan Bello, personally sent a letter of appreciation to Futures Organisation, recognizing it as the primary benefactor of the club’s thoughtful support.

It’s also essential to express gratitude to the on-site team

Olanrewaju Bello and Kazim Alausa

whose tireless efforts ensured the project’s success. Thanks to their expertise and the use of a direct-labour approach, they completed the project not only effectively but also under the initial budget.

Children’s Day educational materials supply to the students and library of Lanlate High School.

The school supplies went round the whole students from JSS  to SSS that were in school on Friday 28th May 2021. About a hundred water cans, a bucket of pen, few bags and 200 exercise books were left behind for students that were not in school for pick up on Monday.

Over all, it was a great outing. It was like Children’s Day give away from the club.

March 2020

To distribute free sanitary pads to secondary school female students who skip school because they cannot afford sanitary pads. The girl child project is an amazing project and the free sanitary pad campaign is everywhere online today. While the boys are getting free condoms to help control the spread of sexually transmitted diseases and teenage pregnancy, no one is really giving the girls free sanitary pads to help keep them in school. It is a big worry on our minds.
